According to Better Home & Gardens and our very own Paula Safran, director of catering, CPCE, LES, CWP, one of the summer wedding colors for 2018 is Green. Cool greens are soothing and relaxing, when they have a blue tone. Try a celadon or mint green for a summer wedding color that is refreshing on the eyes and layer with the palest of cream and grays for a rich tone.
- Decor: Designers agree that when colors are repetitive they create a calm feeling. Layering multiple shades of the same summer wedding color can be welcoming and dramatic at the same time. Try a variety of textures and prints, maybe a herringbone or diamond pattern, along with different size vases, bud vases with small blue/gray flowers and larger vases with a variety of mixed greens.
- Ambiance: With several natural, green backdrops available at West Belmont Place, green is our big color. With evergreen trees that provide shade and cool breezes, along with a deep blue sky at night, drama can be achieved easily.
- Mixed Greens: Think cucumbers, mint, and fresh summer vegetables like zucchini, green beans and green tomatoes. 35% of brides will offer their guests a vegetarian option. Sustainability continues to be important to guests and brides; young and old want to know where their food is coming from and if it’s local. West Belmont Place is a Green Seal certified property, and Chef Todd Goldian works closely with many Loudoun County farmers to provide the freshest and natural food for all guests.
