Mary Watson-Delauder, the Chief Wine Officer at The National Conference Center and West Belmont Place, researched ONEHOPE Wine and decided this would be a great product to carry at The National as it supports one of its core values – giving back. ONEHOPE Wine, a California-based winery that sells wine and other products to raise awareness and funding for a variety of charitable organizations and social causes. ONEHOPE donates half of its profits to charities, and each ONEHOPE wine varietal supports a different charitable cause or organization.
Here’s how it works: The National carried ONEHOPE’s Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and the Sauvignon Blanc.
When you purchased a glass or bottle of Merlot, you’ll help fight global disease. One in six people around the world are infected with neglected tropical diseases. ONEHOPE works with the organization END7 to provide life-changing medicine to children in need.
The Cabernet Sauvignon helps children with Autism. Timely and intensive ABA therapy has an 80-90% chance of showing significant improvement in children with autism. ONEHOPE works with the organization ACT Today! to provide ABA therapy for children with autism.
Join the fight against Breast Cancer with a glass or bottle of ONEHOPE Chardonnay. One in eight women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. ONEHOPE works with the organization Gateway for Cancer Research to fund clinical trials for patients with breast cancer.
Sauvignon Blanc supports a tree reforestation project, called Trees 4 Trees. Half of the world’s tropical forests have already been destroyed. ONEHOPE works with the organization Trees 4 Trees to plant trees in global reforestation projects.
“This is an affordable and quality wine that with every $5 glass purchased at The National, you helped a specific charity,” says Mary Watson. This program has been running from June through January and has been well received by guests. The National has purchased 40 cases which contributed to ONEHOPE’s mission.
